Legal Dictionary: Plain English - PDF

A$0.00

The Legal Dictionary contains over 300 legal terms explained in plain English.

ARDS partnered with the Aboriginal Interpreter Service (AIS) and North Australian Aboriginal Justice Agency (NAAJA) to produce this Legal Dictionary. It contains over 300 legal terms explained in plain English.

This vital resource helps lawyers, police, judges and other legal staff to communicate with Indigenous people who do not speak English as a first language. The plain English descriptions provide meaningful and clear ways to discuss complex legal topics.

We acknowledge the many people who have had a part in the making of ARDS' dictionaries, most importantly the Aboriginal people who shared their language and culture.
