Spanning the gap

Our work champions the importance of language and culture in developing self-determination for Aboriginal people. Our Yolŋu and Balanda (non-Indigenous) staff work together to make sure that Aboriginal voices are heard, and we support Aboriginal communities to increase control and understanding of mainstream services and systems.

Our approach

Our approach is founded upon genuine and in-depth learning between Indigenous and non-Indigenous worldviews and incorporates a contemporary understanding of culturally competent community development and language work.

About us

For nearly 50 years our Yolŋu and Balanda staff have worked together, building relationships of trust and two-way learning. We take the relationships, knowledge and skills we have built to span the gap that often exists between Yolŋu communities and mainstream services and knowledge.

We would like to thank all our sponsors and clients for their support
