ARDS has two Djaŋu (Djangu) resources available - a Djaŋu (to English) dictionary and an English to Djaŋu Word List. Each contain over 1500 common words.

Djaŋu (Warramiri) is spoken by the people of the Warramiri clan. Warramiri is one of a group of about 45 remaining Yolŋu (Yolngu) languages. There are two groups of Warramiri people, the Wurruymu also called the Buḏalpuḏal, and the Waŋdhuna or Guḻiḻiyuna.

The Djaŋu to English Dictionary contains an introduction to Yolŋu languages alphabet and grammar. (Note that the dictionary and word list are not necessarily equivalents in the terms they contain.)

They are a useful vocabulary resource for non-Indigenous people learning Djaŋu, or Yolŋu wanting to improve their English. It will also be of benefit to linguists and the Yolŋu community as a language archive.

We acknowledge the many people who have had a part in the making of ARDS' dictionaries, most importantly the Aboriginal people who shared their language and culture.
