Our eLearn program is an excellent introduction to Yolŋu culture and worldview. It features insights from Yolŋu leaders on a range of topics, interactive learning activities, and practical skills for engagement.

eLearn Program Content

Our acclaimed eLearn program- which draws on 50 years’ of two-way engagement in Northeast Arnhem Land – contains the following modules:

  1. Djalkiri (Yolŋu foundations)
  2. Yolŋu World (Overview of Yolŋu values)
  3. Gurruṯu (Yolŋu kinship)
  4. Manikay (Song)
  5. Wäŋa (Land)
  6. Dhäwu (History)
  7. Dhäruk (Language)
  8. Engagement
  9. Miyalk ga Ḏirramu (Men and Women)
  10. Yolŋu Concerns

Each module can be completed in about 30 minutes, and revisited as many times as you like within 6 months.

  2. Create your own username and password
  3. Click on the ‘eLearn program – Northeast Arnhem Cultural Competency Training’ course to finalise payment and get started immediately.
  4. If you’d like to trial the course first, sign-up then click on ‘eLearn program – Free Trial’ to access two modules for free.

NTG employees are required to complete a workshop (which includes eLearn access) to satisfy Northern Territory Government training requirements for staff working with Yolŋu or on Yolŋu Country.
