Joy Bulkanhawuy (Language & Resources Manager)
Joy is senior a Djambarrpuyŋu person and a highly-skilled and experienced cross-cultural facilitator and educator.
"I been working with ARDS for many years supporting two-way leaning and working across North East Arnhem Land on many different projects with my people. And now, I'm starting a new job as the Language and Resources djägamirr, sharing the role with Emma Murphy."
Bulkanhawuy has led many health and community development projects over the years at ARDS. In her djägamirr (supervisor/manager) role in the language team, she overseas the stories and translations we put on radio, leads our Djambarrpuyŋu Miḻkarri Project, and supports and mentors new language workers. She also advises other project teams at ARDS on culture, language and good pathways for working in communities.
