About the project.

In 2015, ARDS was engaged by Miwatj Employment and Participation (MEP) to facilitate a series of workshops for Remote Jobs in Communities Programme (RJCP) participants. Sixteen workshops were held across the Miwatj region of North-East Arnhem Land which aimed to strengthen the capacity of RJCP participants to navigate and engage with mainstream economic and employment services.

Our expert team of Indigenous and non-Indigenous cross-cultural facilitators designed an in-depth workshop that explored the underlying concepts associated with these systems, which included business processes (how employment conditions and expectations function) and the monetary and taxation systems. We delivered this comprehensive information in a clear, culturally relevant way and in the language of RJCP participants.

By partnering with us to deliver the workshops, MEP was able to provide an avenue for their RJCP participants to make the most of employment opportunities offered them.
