Dikuḻ Baker (Language Worker)

“I like working at ARDS because it’s not just a job for me, it’s a learning space. It helps me grow: especially learning from other staff, listening to ancient languages and milkarri”. The  work I do at ARDS is in translation, and also to help “Yolŋu-ise” our projects,  making them more culturally appropriate.”

Dikuḻ’s work at ARDS has included translation, radio announcing, working with stories and language from Elders, delivering Cross Cultural Competency Training, and providing guidance to Balanda staff on making projects more accessible and appropriate for Yolŋu audiences.
