Julia Wormer (CEO)
Julia is a values driven leader with extensive senior leadership experience in health, mental health, family support, and community services in the NT. She has worked in executive management with TeamHEALTH, Anglicare NT, and headspace.
With 20 years’ experience across clinical, operational, and senior management roles, Julia has worked in both urban and remote contexts—bringing a deep understanding of the complexities of delivering person-centred services in the NT. She has a strong track record of working collaboratively, two ways learning and has considerable knowledge of Northeast Arnhem Land and Yolŋu.
As an Accredited Mental Health Social Worker, Julia is committed to culturally relevant, safe, and trauma-informed practice and values the critical role of lived experience and community voice in service design and delivery. She is particularly skilled in navigating change, service establishment, and implementation, embedding strategic initiatives, and fostering strong partnerships that align with organisational goals and community priorities. Julia’s leadership reflects her belief in building resilient teams, accountable systems, and services that empower communities to thrive.
Julia is committed to ensuring that ARDS continues to be a genuinely Yolŋu led organisation and to champion the importance of language and culture in developing self-determination for Yolŋu people.
