Wata Burrmalala-Cyclone Culture film is now streamable

ARDS has been working closely with Yolŋu at Ramangiṉiŋ and Yurrwi to make a film about Burrmalala (cyclone).

The films aims are to:

• Share Yolŋu and Balanda worldviews about this incredible
phenomenon.
• Pay tribute to the ancient knowledge of an ongoing culture that
has lived with cyclones forever.
• Celebrate the community resilience shown through Cyclones
Lam and Nathan in 2015.
• Prepare future generations to be experts in cyclone safety and
survival.

The film is now streamable via ARDS Vimeo Page:

This film was jointly funded by the Australian and Northern Territory Governments’ Community Recovery Fund under Category C of the Commonwealth-State Natural Disaster Relief and Recovery Arrangements.
