Festival season is upon us

It has been a big year for our Nhulunbuy production team who have been busy producing Yolŋu Radio content and providing support for a range of events throughout northeast Arnhem Land.

Highlights have included the International Women’s Day Event we hosted at the Nhulunbuy studio, a week in Galiwin’ku producing live broadcasts and features on local organisations, and coordinating entertainment and sound and lights production for Miwatj Health's 'World No Tobacco Day' event in Yirrkala (broadcast live on Yolŋu Radio).

However, things are about to get even busier:

  • We’re coordinating a smoke free event in Milingimbi on 20 June on behalf of Miwatj Health
  • We’re organising the sound and lighting production for the Yirrkala Yarrapay Festival on 29 June, which will be live broadcast on Yolŋu Radio, with headliners Yirrmal and Saltwater Band and Rirratjiŋu giving a special performance of the Yarrapay Morning Star buŋgul
  • We’re providing sound and lighting equipment for the Garma Festival from 2 – 5 August, as well as a four day Yolŋu Radio live broadcast
  • We’re coordinating the sound and lighting production at the inaugural Baniyala Homelands Music and Film Festival from 16 – 18 August
  • And on 19 September we’re coordinating the sound, lights and entertainment for the Gapuwiyak Arts and Culture Festival, which will be broadcast live on Yolŋu Radio.
