ARDS Attends APO NT Learning Forum

ARDS Attends APO NT Learning Forum

From 1st to 3rd of October last week, ARDS Chairperson Gawura Wanambi and Acting CEO Rev Haloti Kailahi attended the Aboriginal Peak Organisations Northern Territory (APO NT) Learning Forum in Alice Springs.

It was a great opportunity to share and learn in collaboration with other Aboriginal Organisations. There were many highlights including the Welcome address by the Minister for Indigenous Australians Hon Ken Wyatt AM, MP, the keynote address by Tomas Mayor on the Uluru "Statement from the Heart" and Alistair Ferguson, the Executive Director of Maranguka, a Bourke based organisation on collective impact approach to justice reinvestment.

Both Gawura and Haloti found the forum very informative and a great way to build ARDS networking more with other organisations. It is impossible to share everything from the forum but both have learned so much from the experience. They met familiar faces and found new friends and have made arrangement to catch up with some of them soon in their quest to build on the established brand of ARDS.

There is a strong possibility that ARDS may be asked to do a presentation in a Future Forum.
