About the studio

Located at the top of Arnhem Land on the Gulf of Carpentaria, Gayŋuru (Gaynguru) Studios is one of the best in the Northern Territory. By choosing Gayŋuru Studios, you will have a recording experience like no other. As well as a skilled team on hand for all your studio needs, the natural beauty and strong cultural traditions of the area will provide inspiration for your recording project.

Gayŋuru Studios is a fully-fitted professional facility with two inter-linked studios and a capacity up to 8 people in the largest room. A separate control room features Protools and C24 system, Genelec Monitoring system and a range of high quality equipment. There are also a range of instruments available to visiting musicians.

Engineers and network

Our skilled studio engineers are available during studio hire and can meet any of your recording and production needs, from overdubs to arrangements and remixes to full album creation.

Our network of local session musicians can fill any gaps in your mix as required, or provide a unique local Arnhem Land sound for your album or sound track.

You can also hire the studios without an engineer if you have your own, or as a rehearsal space.

Training

Gayŋuru Studios also the provide the perfect training space for up and coming sound engineers with professional standard equipment and software. Aboriginal people interested in a career in sound production are welcome to contact us for training opportunities.

Supporting communities

The Studios are part of ARDS social enterprise arm - any profits are invested back into ARDS other community work. So by hiring Gayŋuru Studios you are supporting the empowerment of Aboriginal communities.

$600/day or $80/hour
